What's on my summer playlist?

As I write this I am sat outside in sunny Australia! Although it's winter here it is surprisingly warm. This post is going to be a simple one, my summer playlist! This is the shortened version as the real life playlist is about two hours long. The songs are in no particular order so let's jump right in...

Waves - Mr Probz
Gecko (Overdrive) - Oliver Heldens X Becky Hill
Ghost - Ella Henderson
Touch - Shift K3Y
Stay High (Habits Remix) - Tove Lo
Nobody To Love - Sigma
Dear Boy - Avicii
Weight of Living, Pt 2 - Bastille
Explode ft. Dappy - Cover Drive
Kathleen - Catfish and the Bottlemen

These are my top ten songs from my summer playlist. What are your favourite summer tunes?

There's going to be a lack of posts after this because of being in Australia without a laptop but I promise to redeem myself when I return! Be prepared for some Australian beauty brands!

Putting Conditioner Before Shampoo... WHAT?!

Be prepared for gushing because this post is about how reverse washing has transformed my hair! I'm sure a lot of you have heard about reverse washing because it got a lot of hype the other month but it basically means you condition your hair before shampooing. For me this means I slap on that condition to the length of my hair, then wash my body and shave then rise it out before shampooing my scalp.

This method of reverse washing has really helped my hair because it is extremelyyyyy thick! I've noticed that when conditioning first my hair is more manageable and dries quicker. This is important as even when using a hair dryer it can take hours for my hair to fully dry.

One worry I've heard when suggesting reverse washing to friends is that their hair wont be as smooth and detangled as it is when conditioning last. I've actually experienced the opposite of this and to explain here comes the sciencey bit!

~ Science Time! ~
So the theory behind reverse washing is that hair absorbs the first liquid it comes in contact with. So by conditioning first the hair absorbs more of the conditioner leaving your hair silky soft where as when shampooing first the hair absorbs more of the shampoo. This is similar to why when going swimming its helpful to spray a mixture of water and leaving conditioner on your hair beforehand; the hair absorbs the mixture instead of the damaging sea or chlorine water.

Of course remember to not put conditioner on the scalp and do remember to shampoo last because I forgot this the other week resulting in weird hair and greasy scalp! I've also found it help to shampoo just the scalp and top of the hair rather than the lengths where the conditioner has been although when rising your hair the shampoo running down the hair won't effect the results, I promise!

For reference I use the Herbal Essences Ignite My Colour shampoo and conditioner.

Have you tried reverse washing? What did you think of it?

Summer Citrus Scents

Today I'm going to be sharing with you three delicious smelling body products which help keep lovely and smooth for the summer. I personally love a good citrus scent and flavouring but tend not to like eating the actual fruit because of the texture. Oranges for example, my favourite flavour but urgh the squishiness and white bits!

So my summer citrus products include the Orangeasm Body Wash by Soap and Glory (£6.50 here) which is a light, creamy wash thats perfect for summer. Also from Soap and Glory is the Sugar Crush Body Scrub (£8 here). The texture of this is like a gritty thick porridge and really enjoy smoothing out my body with this stuff! Lastly we have the Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Body Sorbet (£8 here). The now body sorbets are great for keeping hydrated in the summer as well as cooling you down too. Tip: keep them in the fridge! This lovely product makes me want to try out the new Vitamin E Face Sorbet too.

Of course these products all compliment each other as well as keeping me feeling fresh and clean! What scents do you love in the summer?
